ffprobe/ffmpegに 'timeout'フラグを追加するとすぐに失敗する

Question

ffprobe -timeout 20 -v trace -print_format json -show_format -show_streams 'http://www.sample-videos.com/video/mp4/720/big_buck_bunny_720p_2mb.mp4'を実行すると、タイムアウトを20秒に設定しても、コマンドはすぐにConnection timed outエラーで失敗します。 20秒近く待たずに、ただちに終了コード1で終了します。ここにトレース出力があります。

HTTPでは、単位はマイクロ秒です。
